High Scores & High Neon: Our Retro Arcade LEGO® Takeover
If there is one thing that perfectly overlaps with the love of building complex LEGO® sculptures, it’s the deep, undeniable nostalgia of classic video games. We wanted to celebrate that intersection. So, for our latest pop-up showcase, we bypassed the traditional galleries and headed straight for the glowing screens and ringing bells of the retro arcade bar.
We packed up our most vibrant, ambitious, game-inspired commissions and set up shop right in the middle of the flashing pinball machines and vintage cabinets.

Merging Two Nostalgias Under Neon Lights
The atmosphere of a classic arcade bar is entirely unique. It’s dark, moody, and lit almost exclusively by the magenta, cyan, and electric blue glow of CRT screens and neon signs. We knew our standard displays wouldn’t cut it here—we needed builds that would literally shine in the dark.
Our artists spent months leaning into a cyberpunk aesthetic, utilizing hundreds of rare, translucent LEGO bricks. When we flipped on the UV blacklights at the venue, our massive, multi-level futuristic cityscape came alive. It was an incredible sight: patrons stepping away from beating high scores to marvel at glowing plastic skyscrapers and neon-lit alleyways.
Racing Karts and 8-Bit Mosaics
We didn’t just stick to the future; we brought the classics to life, too.
Nestled right between the fighting games and the skee-ball machines, we unveiled our life-sized, brightly colored retro racing karts. Built flawlessly from thousands of standard bricks, they looked like they had driven straight off a digital rainbow track and into reality. The reflective gloss of the plastic caught the flickering lights of the arcade cabinets beautifully.
On the walls, our 1×1 stud mosaics perfectly replicated iconic 8-bit “INSERT COIN” screens and classic pixel art, proving that before we had high-definition graphics, we had blocky, brilliant imagination.
The Ultimate Player Two
Watching the crowd interact with the art was the best part of the night. People would finish an intense round of an arcade game, grab a drink, and immediately start analyzing the structural integrity of our racing karts or trying to spot the hidden mini-figures in our glowing cyberpunk city.
It was a night where digital gaming and tactile engineering completely blurred together. A massive thank you to everyone who came out, grabbed some tokens, and geeks out with us.
